Okay ride

The goal over the next few months is to still do some biking and swimming even though my main focus will be running.  I don’t want to lose all of my gains this year in these two discplines.  I took the bike up to Hines Park today and it was a beautiful morning.  Better temp for a run than a ride.  At 62 degrees, I was debating how warm to dress.  I ended up taking my leg warmers and my long sleeve top.  I’m glad I did.  I was almost cold on top the first 3-4 miles.  I definately needed the coverage on my arms and while my legs would have been okay without I think it was wise to keep my knees warm especially since my right one has been a little achey lately.

This was my first ride since my Tri last week and unlike previous training rides where the legs were primed and ready, they felt pretty sluggish today.  Just didn’t seem to have the pop I’d like.  Traffic and lights cooperated so I still posted a respectible time.  This was also the north end of Hines which is the hillier part.  I averaged 18.4 on the way out which has most of the climb and 20.8 on way back.  Feeling good about it and ready to ice the knee for good measure.
