New PR Run
Okay, so I ran 3.5 miles for the first time (previous longest distance was 2.3) on Tuesday and did it in 30:15, which I felt pretty good about. Today I shaved almost 2 minutes off. Felt awesome. My knees feel great too!! My one calf tightened up half way through and is still tight despite stretching it out, but other than that it was an awesome run on a sunny, cool, crisp, colorful autumn afternoon.

Solid Run
Well I ran for the first time in two weeks and I decided to add to my distance. I had been doing a 2.3 mile loop and I added 50% for a 3.5 mile run. I backed off the pace a little especially the first half mile. I felt good. It helped that the temp was a very comfortable 60 degrees. I think it was about 42 degrees on my last run. This is the farthest I’ve run since high school and the knees felt pretty good. Tomorrow will be a better indicator or when I go to run on Thurs. So far so good. I’m encouraged by my progress. I need a goal now so I think I’ll run a 5k in November. I’d like to run it in 25 min. or less.

Felt pretty good on my run today. My knees have been holding up and I’ve been able to increase my pace. I think I’m going to up my distance gradually too. The warm-up exercises my trainer gave me have been helping my knees too.

Better run
I did some warm-up exercises before my run that my trainer recommended and my knees, particularly my left knee felt much better from the get go. It was my first real test for my new running shoes too. We’ll have to see how my knees feel this evening and tomorrow….
